500m time trial

We had the 500m time trials today. It was pretty bad I think. I felt that I didn't perform really well. Really slow today. *Sigh*

At least there's something to be happy about today.

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENT: We can FINALLY paddle the Mosquito!!!

When Yuen Foong and I first got into the white Mos, I was like, "Pretty stable sia!" But we capped right after the first stroke. Then we tried again. And woohoo... we could actually paddle quite a distance without capping at all! Omg! Omg! Can't believe it myself!

1st lap (K2 white) - Not good. Fumbled at the start. Lag behind alot. Was one of the last to reach. Argh!~

2nd lap (White Mos) - Last to reach. But it's an achievement, cos at least we completed the lap without capping. Surprised actually, that we didn't cap.

3rd lap (K2 black) - Start was pretty good actually. But Yuen Foong got tired halfway through, so the boat was really unstable, cos she was losing focus. Can't compensate for her fatigue, cos boat was too unstable for me to even paddle harder. Argh!~ Third to finish.

4th lap (K2 white) - Went with Lina. Felt tired really fast. Was also really shaky throughout the lap. Direction was totally screwed. Could have gone faster actually. I think I need some warm-up in the front before sprinting. But it's like the fastest lap I did today.

5th lap (K2 white) - Went with Lina again. But cap after 250m, cos I went down with the boat. Could see that she was still trying to save, but I was in the water already. *Sigh*

And I got cuts on EVERY toe!! Argh!~

Woohoo... Surf and Sweat is just 12 hrs away! Yea!~ I can't wait! =)

Sucky thing is, the goodie bags will be given on a first come first serve basis!

And OMG!! Daph just found out there's a Spongebob Beach Party at Sentosa tomorrow! And she going all crazy over it! LOL!!

Time table?! SUcks!

I'm late again today! Actually it's only my 2nd time. But Mdm Tan... *Sigh*

I can't believe she actually went to observe the trend in my latecoming. Omg! She realises that I'm always late after days when I have trainings. Talked to me, and asked what time trainings usually end, the time I get home, when I do my work .etc. Didn't know exactly what to say, cos I was afraid I'll say something wrong. She commented that I have a crappy schedule, and that I'm in a JC to take the 'A' Levels, and not canoeing. This sucks, cos now she wants me to give her my daily schedule - what I do throughout the week. And we'll "work on it". Oh man!

She also said that I'm at a disadvantage, cos my other classmates aren't as busy as me. And that I gotta change my study habits (Waking up in the morning to study), cos I'll soon burn out. Oh well!

Discussed with Daphne about what time trainings should end on my daily schedule. Feel safer that way.

I'm just so afraid she will actually tell Mr Tan, and trainings will have to end even earlier. Argh!~ I hope she doesn't do something like that.

Anyway, we had land training today. Oh my! I was coughing non-stop throughout the training. Was even worried that I'll not be able to keep up for the warm-up jog. So "xia-suay"! Luckily, the jog was pretty slow.

Gym training went pretty well. Just that I felt so tired, and my muscles felt weak. Argh!~

There was no meter on the Ergo machine today, so no readings. But I think my strokes are pretty nice now! Hehe... =)

Discussed with Yuen Foong about the events we wanna take part in the SDBA. Actually decided on K2 - 1000m and T2 - 500m. I was contemplating whether to go for T1 - 500m as well. Damn "kiasu" I know. But I haven't paddled singles for a competition, so I wanna try. Hehe...

Anyway, after Coach's debrief and all, the event Yuen Foong and I will be taking part is the T2 - 500m. Seems like the T2 events have become our pet event, and the T2 - our pet boat. Actually, I think we may stand a chance. It's just that, u know, after training for so long, you'll want to compete on a faster boat, a more challenging boat.

I'll still do my best anyway. Maybe it's a blessing in disguise? Hope we'll do well, and if it gets me a medal, I'll still be just as happy! =)

I'll also be competing in T1 - 500m. All thanks to Liling and Sharon, who graciously gave up their places to Daph and I. Thanks a whole lot! =)

I'm really looking forward to this weekend. A fun-filled weekend ahead! Time trials for 500m on Saturday, and Surf and Sweat on Sunday!

Yea!~ I can hardly wait! =)

Pessimistic? Me?

Oh ya. People say I sound kinda down in my recent entries.

Do I? Do I?

I certainly hope not.

Can't afford to be pessimistic at this point in time.

Think positive! Yea!~

Think Jeannette Aw! Ooo...

Hmm... Like got no link eh! Ahh... Whatever.

I'm in the mood for Jeannette Aw now! Yea!~

Lol! =P

Oily training

Oh my! I'm now the all-so-famous cab-taker! Anyone who sees me in school early will go, "Sarah, you took a cab is it?" Omg!

Took a cab to school today, again. Already my 2nd time this week. Not forgetting that I didn't go to school on Monday. So that makes it my 2nd consecutive time. Argh!~

I'm gonna be real BROKE this week!

Ooo... And for once, I'm explaining to Liling about Physics stuff - D.C Circuit. Am sooo proud of myself! Woohoo! Lol! =)

Training ended really late today! 7.30 pm? It's been a long time since I left Kallang this late.

We did:

On T2:
- 2.5km warm-up
- 4 x 500m sprint

On K2:
- 2 x 500m sprint
- Break
- 2 x 1000m sprint
- Starting bursts

Tide was real low today! Cos it's the 18th day in the lunar calendar, according to Coach. It was horrible man! Caused so many of us to get cuts on our feet. Worst being Junwen and Kah Meng, I think.

Current was crazy as well! The water kept pushing us away from the shore. Imagine doing the warm-up laps and 500m sprints on the T2! It was really tiring! Arms took turns to shut down after each lap.

Sprinting on the K2 was much better. At least the direction can be controlled with just a push on the rudder. Wee... Lol! 500m sprints weren't that great. Tried to improve our starting, but didn't turn out too well. More impressed with how Yuen Foong and I performed for the 1000m sprints. I feel that the 1st one was pretty okay, but the 2nd one was SUPERB! The best lap of the day! Could feel the boat flying! Almost caught up with Bennett and Jon on the T2. I think this lap's even better than those we did last Saturday. Yea!~

I'm glad communication on the boat was a weee bit better today! =)

There was alot of oil on (or is it in?) the water near the pontoon today! Hate that! Made the boats really hard to carry! I was sooo afraid the boat will just slip off my already frictionless hands! We did a thorough equipment wash-up, with soap and all. Like a car wash of some sort!

Seemed like only the Sr Canoeists were all ready for an oil attack, with soap and sponge all in our shed! Heh.

Digressing, the Police Coast Guard ought to do something about the oil pollution at the waters of Kallang. Service their mean machines or use the latest environmentally friendly hydrogen fuel, I don't care. Just don't put us at a risk of boat-slipping or temporary body odour. I'll be grateful!

Anyway, I found a worm in the cubicle. Told Sharon about it, and she on the shower to wash it away. Turns out that the worm stopped moving soon after. Puzzled? That's because she only on the hot water tap, and so my guess is - the hot, and I mean steaming hot, water had the worm cooked. Lol!

Watched 'My Lucky Charm' on Channel 8 tonight. Not that I don't watch it on other nights. But Jeannette Aw really got me mesmerised today! After the makeover she underwent in the show, it was WOW! BEAUTIFUL! She is indeed drop-dead GORGEOUS!

I bet Hong An's nodding his head non-stop now. Lol! =P

Mc

All thanks to the sucky GP essay outlines, I slept less than 3 hrs last night!

Was rushing them out like a mad woman. I felt I did some of them pretty well. Hehe... =)

My eyelids were drooping the whole day! Could hardly stay awake during lectures, and even tutorials!

Well, I had an MC yesterday. So obviously, I didn't go to school. Yea!

Dropped by school just to pass my 'Vertical Marathon' form to Daph, so that it'll be in on time. Am I good or what? =)

Missed training. Heard that only 4 girls turned up! Ooo... Am not the only one down this time! Heh.

Got my Physics test and Math test back today. And guess what?

I FLUNKED ALL OF THEM!!!

Gosh! I'm speechless! And the tests were on topics that I felt most confident of. What the hell happened?!

Oh well. At least there's consolation in knowing that I just missed the passing grade. Scored a 13/30 for Physics, and 10/25 for Math (Way better than Daph's 3/25! Wee....). And there are others who failed worse than me! Yea!~

I just found out that I'm under monitoring for Math, cos I got an AO for Promos last year. Mrs Tan kindly reminded me to study hard for the coming Common Test on Maclaurin's Series, P & C, and Further Curve Sketching. And these topics just soo happen to be the ones I seriously don't understand and totally hate! Argh!~

I bet I'll be the first name on the 'List of Students down for Remedial'! Cos not only am I 110% sure that I'm going to fail the test, I'm 120% sure that I'm going to fail it miserably.

*Sigh*

Indeed, it's just the beginning of the arduous year ahead!

Should I go?

It's already 11.35 pm, and I'm still at my first essay outline.

I'm so dead! Argh!~

I'm really thinking about skipping school tomorrow!

But I'm darn afraid of what Mdm Tan will say.

*Sigh* =(

P.S We made pineapple tarts today, and it turned out pretty good. Hehe... Good enough to sell you know? That's what my uncle said. Lol! =)

Daph's Slimming Secret!

Ooo... I know the secret to Daphne's slim physique! Hehe...

The answer is to...

SHIT MORE!!!

Yes guys, that's Daph's Slimming Secret. What goes in from the top, comes our from the bottom, almost immediately! So there's no net gain in calories! Lol!

I'm going to eat more fruits and vegs!

Welcome to Shitting Club!

SHITTING RULES!!! =)

1000 m trials

Seriously, I ought to be doing my GP essay outlines now. Haven't started on them yet. I'm so dead!

And there's Physics test tomorrow. Argh!~

I'm seriously comtemplating if I should go to school tomorrow.

Anyway, I'm sick, again! It sucks!

I'm having a really bad throat, coupled with an on-and-off fever and headaches.

And I was just sick on 7 January 2005! Gosh! Am I that frail or what?

Well, yesterday's was the day! It was the time trials for 1000m! I guess Yuen Foong and I performed pretty well. We were 2nd for every sprint. Or maybe cos most of the boats were down before the finishing line.

I realised that our start is way way lousy! We were always the last boat to start! And we'll be playing catch-up for most of the lap. And the worst thing was when we were nearing the finishing line and Yuen Foong starts to panick. And I'll be all nervous too, cos the boat will be all shaky. That's really bad!

I tried the white K1 after our 3 laps. And to my dismay, I still can't paddle in it! *Sigh*

Yuen Foong went to try 1000m on the K1.

I have a feeling Yuen Foong and I are going to split. Blessing in disguise maybe?

Paddled in circles on the K2, with Daphne at the back. Funny, we were actually pretty stable! Hehe...

I urged Daphne to try the front when paddling back to the pontoon. And OMG!! Daphne is DEFINITELY not a front person! This I experienced it first-hand. And I TOTALLY agree!

She was way tense! I couldn't help but laugh the whole way back, cos she looked so funny from the back! With her body so stiff and all. Haha... And she screams at the slightest leaning! Plus, I bet we paddled way more than we had to, cos she was going in ZIG-ZAG! Gosh!

Luckily her knees weren't knocking into each other!

I'm so proud of myself man! At least I'm much more comfortable in the front than her! Lol! =)

Tiring land training

School was pretty sucky today!

First of all, the Chemistry test. Couldn't recall the right conditions for the reactions. Whether is it 65 atm or 400 atm? Or 55 degrees C or 150 degrees C? And suffering from a severe lack of sleep didn't exactly make it better. Also didn't have time to complete the only question I was so sure of. I'm so gonna fail! Damn!

I seriously hope I don't get 3/25 for my Math test, like Daphne! *Crosses my fingers and praying hard*

Mdm Tan dropped a HUGE bombshell on us! We are to do 3 essay outlines on 'Prejudice and Discrimination' during the long weekend. Like I know anything about it at all! Sucks!

Went for lunch at Delifrance at Compass Point with Brenda and her classmates (Cheryl, Hakim and Zuri).

As for land training today, we did the usual warm-up jog with the J1s, then proceeded to the gym to do 3 sets of weights. Didn't finish my sets, cos there was no time.

Average power for Ergo:

1st set: Maintained at 90+ - 100+. Max power was 148!!!

2nd set: Was paddling at the back. So that I can check on Yuen Foong's strokes.

Did medicine ball exercises - 3 sets of 30 reps.

I felt really tired today. My body's really sore. Probably cos I've been training all week.

Now, I have some form of training every day, except Sunday. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday are Canoeing training days. Tuesday and Friday are my PE days. Plus, we probably have to run 3.6 km during PE every Tuesday, cos the Road Race is coming.

Anyway, I'm joining the National Vertical Marathon 2005 with Melvin, Kah Meng, Bennett and Yuen Foong. Yea!~ We're a team! It's gonna be one hell of a ride climbing 51 storeys! Plus, their stamina's real good! Way better than mine!

I think I'm going to start training for it! Hehe... By climbing up 19 storeys to my home as often as I can. =) Hopefully it helps! *Crosses my fingers*

I'm not a Chingay motivator this year! Can't join it cos it clashes with Canoeing trainings. Argh!~

Not really good trainings

Had sea training yesterday. Last sea practice before the time trials this Saturday. Was hoping for it to be a good one. Didn't really turn out as I'd hoped for. *Sigh*

We did :

On T2
- 2.5km warm-up
- 2 x 1000m sprint

On K2
- 2 x 1000m sprint
- Break
- 2 x 500m sprint

Training didn't really go well. Almost capped on a T2! OMG! Can't believe it myself!

Sprinting on the T2 was unbelievably good. We went pretty fast, though I felt I was putting in more effort, as usual. Oh well.

Swopped boats with Kah Meng and Hong An. Got K2 black. Thought it was going to be better - not so tiring. But no! It was bad, real bad!

We never once paddled a lap without having to stop to tap. Capped TWICE!! Even on a K2! Disappointed man!

We capped at the start of our first lap. Maybe cos my seat was too far back, and I couldn't counter her.

Told her she was leaning alot during our second lap. Don't know if she heard me. Couldn't take it no more at the last part, and screamed at her, "You gotta counter yourself!" Can't believe she actually told me that she was already countering herself cos she was "sitting up straight". Omg! Was boiling with fury! Shouted at her, "You can't counter by sitting up straight, you gotta use your FEET!" She shouted back, "I'm using my FEET!"

Seriously, I feel that she's not countering herself at all!

We capped AGAIN when we were going back to shore. Was damn pissed by then! Told her, "Why not you ask Coach to paddle with you? I swear you're leaning!" Went straight to the toilet to cool off as soon as I got to shore.

Coach paddled with her and pointed out several major mistakes in her strokes, which contributed to her leaning. Her left elbow was tucked in when recovering. She was also punching too high.

Though mistakes have been pointed out, our boat was still incredibly unstable during the 500m sprints! Many times we had to stop to tap cos we were on the verge of capping.

Told her that she was still leaning, and she got so pissed that during our last lap, she actually stopped paddling altogether! Was a little stunned by her reaction.

After our laps, Coach came over and said that we paddled pretty good. Omg! I was speechless! It was better, but not good at all, by my standards. Didn't he see how unstable the boat was, how slow it was going?

Asked Coach after training why the boat's still so unstable. He told me that it takes time. I realised that I'm kinda too impatient at times - expecting instant results. He also patiently told me what Yuen Foong's problems are, and how can I counter it. Cos sometimes, I feel that her leaning is so much, I can't counter it. And not forgetting, how he could still paddle with his partner, even though they were not talking to each other.

Training didn't turn out as I had hoped for. Was almost late for school. Got scolded by Mdm Tan for smiling?!! Gosh! The last one's so stupid!

Just how bad can a day get?

Argh!~

First training with J1s

First of all, I'm going for Surf and Sweat 2005 with Kah Meng. Yea!~

I'll be surfing, and him, sweating. Hehe...

I heard that the singlet's way cool, and the goodie bag should be pretty good too! Plus, it's gonna be really fun! All for only 5 bucks! =)

And who knows? Maybe we'll win! Lol!

Anyway, we had our first training with J1s yesterday. Did 2 rounds of circuits. The first time I didn't feel tired at all! Hehe... I thought some of the guys were pretty weak, though there were some who were really strong. I was surprised at some of the girls' endurance. Seems like their mental strength is even stronger than mine! Gotta improve man! Can't lose to them! Lol!

There's this girl at training who was really skinny! As in really really thin! As she was doing the warm-up stretches and the push-ups, I was so afraid her bones might just give way! I seriously think she's not gonna turn up for training on Thursday. Haha...

Melvin debriefed the J1s after training. I think it was the first proper debrief he has given. Lol! Anyway, I was proud of him, for giving such an inspiring debrief, and was also proud of the team, for performing really well during the training.

Cos the training was too slack, and the J2s weren't feeling tired at all, we decided to go for 2 more rounds of sprint-jog circuit. That really got me fatigued! But I felt really good after that!

Qianqin seems to be becoming more like our team's nanny now! Lol! Getting more long-winded and stuff. But it's all good! She reminded us to treasure every training, cos SDBA's coming.

Tried doing pull-ups. And I was amazed! In fact, I was shocked! I can finally do 1 pull-up! (Actually it's not really a proper one, but let's round it off to 1. Hehe...) Yea!~ =)

Today's pretty okay. I was busy rushing out tutorials during my lectures and breaks, again.

And I realised that Hong An actually looks pretty sexy on the photo panel at the concourse. Lol! =P

Paddling with Lina

It was a tough sea training yesterday! And being hungry and thirsty didn't make it any better. I was constantly thinking of 'tau huay' and water! And I was also looking out for white boats heading towards shore, hoping they were ours! Lol!

We did:

- 5km warm-up
- 3 x 1000m sprint on K2 (6000m in total, cos we have to paddle back)
- Short water break
- 3 x 500m sprint on T2 (1500m in total)

Paddled with Lina yesterday. I had to sit in front. Pretty nervous, cos I have always been the one at the back. I instinctively went to the back to set up when she handed me my seat. Lina had to remind me that I was at the front today. Haha...

It was my first time sitting in front, first time controlling the rudder. I was so nervous, my knees were knocking into each other when I first got onto the boat! Everything felt so different in the front! The boat's SOOOO much slimmer, and there's something sticking in between my feet. Sometimes I forget that I'm now the one controlling the rudder, until I see the boat moving almost horizontally!

Lina was really great! She let me do things step-by-step. Knowing that I was so unfamiliar with being in front, she told me to focus on the rudder and direction first, while she did the balancing. And she guided me on how to cut waves. Now I think I'm better at it than Yuen Foong! Hehe...

And for the record, I think my rudder control is pretty good! Considering it's only my first time. =)

Somehow, I find paddling in front really exhausting - both physically and mentally. I seemed to tire really quick. Like during the 1000m sprints, I already felt tired when we had only paddled 500m. If not for Lina's encouragement, I bet I'd have given up right then. I've never felt like this before! A tad disappointed, cos I didn't use full blade as well.

Anyway, the highlight of the training was that I could actually feel the boat flying during some of our sprints! Especially during the last 1000m sprint, and the 500m sprints. Never felt this way since I last paddled with Xunbin!

Had a really long chat with Xunbin last night. About her controversial entry, about our partners...

I feel really bad. I feel guilty. Paddling with Lina was pretty good, I must admit (Actually, I find paddling with anyone better than paddling with Yuen Foong). But memories just start to flow back to me. About how after I didn't turn up for 1 training, I suddenly lost my partner to Xunbin. How I felt when I found out I was partnerless, and left with no choice but to partner Yuen Foong. (And she didn't make it better by insisting that she'll only paddle the K2 after she has mastered the K1.)

It was all good though cos I know they were much more suitable as partners, in terms of size and all. But I know it was hard for Daphne and Xunbin to tell me.

Seriously, I wouldn't like this to happen again.

I don't wanna hurt anyone.

Argh!~

Late again!

I was late on Friday!

Luckily I smsed Mdm Kelly Tan at 7.30.51 am. Phew!

Wasted 1 chance cos I needed to shit!

I just hate shitting in the morning!

Argh!~

Extraordinary talk

Had the J1s CCA Recruitment yesterday. The figures are astonishing! 79 people actually signed up with Canoeing! I bet the number will half by next Monday! Hehe...

Went for sea training yesterday. My first sea training in 2005! Really looking forward to it. Felt really nice going to Kallang from school. Once again, I slept in the bus. New Canoeing teacher - Ms Chua.

-Bad training
-Strong current
-Got pissed with yf
-She wasn't feeling tired after laps (5k)
-I was almost dead
-Told her that she can't depend only on me to paddle
-BM and Sharon heard it
-Coach made us paddle 3 more rounds cos we went to shore
-Really pissed with Yf cos she doesn't seem to be putting her best
-Finally caught up with BM & Sharon in the 2nd round
-was only cos BM's cap flew off
-Was putting alot of power to pace with them from the start, but they overtook us in the end
-Shouted at Yf, cos I felt she was slacking
-She told me that she did try to overtake them
-Hard to believe her, cos though I was putting in alot of power, boat didn't move significantly faster
-Told her that I've been putting alot of power since we caught up with them
-She shutted up
-Did 1000m sprint
-Could feel that she did try to paddle harder, but slacked off near the end
-Tried to compensate, but was not really effective, cos I was also tired by then
-Tide was super low when we got up
-Cut myself, foot kept sinking into the mud
-Hate it
-After Coach's debrief, I asked him will Yf be my partner?
-Kinda straightforward i think
-Asked me if i want her to be my partner - ans was definitely a no
-didn't need to ans, cos team girls answered it for me. lol
-lina said, "out of 10 girls, 9 girls don't like her. out of 6 guys, 6 guys don't like her"
-found it really funny
-coach told us that the partners are not confirmed yet
-will have a talk with her (Lina said that it must be an extraordinary one)
-cos she wouldn't listen
-He said that I need to throw my shoulder forward more
-cos though i'm powerful, my arms aren't that long
-he pointed out alot of Yf's mistakes (Yea!)
-most of them leading to the rocking of boat
-daph paddled lancer
-way funny and tiring for her
-was "like a tiny girl paddling all by herself"

Thur
-Land training
-Super tiring
-4 rounds of circuits (push-ups, crunches, jumping jack, dips - 100m jog, 100m sprint)
-3 sets of weights circuit
-timing sucks - 3.33 (29), 3.13 (31), 3.17 (28)
-coach came down for a nice long debrief
-told us how partners should work together (whose fault when capsize, working as one...)
-daph, xb, bm and lina were like all smiling when he mentioned it
-couldn't help but laugh when i glanced at them
-found out that coach asked daph about yf
-she told him that she wouldn't listen, and that she looks down on me?
-xb also told him that it was a waste putting me with her
-maybe trying out with lina this sat, but gotta get used to rudder
-again, the threesome had a nice long chat, while sitting at the netball court, then bus stop
-knew about alphabets and depression better
-J1s coming in next Mon
-Can't wait to see how they torture them =)

Monday Blues

Didn't go for training again yesterday cos I was not feeling well. Headache just won't go away, even till now. Saw them doing circuits. It's been a long time since I last did them. Argh!~

Ever since school started, I realised that I was never free during breaks or lectures. I always had something to do - tutorials, assignments... Plus, I never slept well too. And this is only the start of the school term. *Sigh*

I had my GP essay test today, cos I didn't turn up last Friday. I think I screwed up - didn't link my points back to the question. Argh! Was also often distracted, cos 2S18 was doing their presentation in front, and I just couldn't stop my eyes from looking. Mdm Tan didn't make it better either.

Mdm Tan returned our first draft of the GP presentation today. First thing she asked when she returned us the draft was, "Which group did this?". Chun Hong raised his hand. I thought we were in deep shit! Then she said, "I'm shocked! Who did this?" Chun Hong replied, "Liling, Bendy, Sarah and me." I could sense his nervousness. Was getting myself mentally prepared, keeping fingers crossed. I really thought we were doomed! As in our draft was totally crap. But she commented, "I looked through it and I couldn't find anything to kill." All of us heaved a sigh of relief! Man, she really got us sitting at the edge of our butts! If there's such an expression at all. Lol!

Indeed, we're one FORMIDABLE group!!! =)

Stupid GP Presentation

I HATE GP!!

Thanks to the GP presentation, Liling, Bendy and I had to go to Chun Hong's place at 7 pm to do it. And we stayed till 11.30 pm.

By then, we only had our research done. And it was only possible cos Ms Ong helped us. She was indeed a great help! Really really thank you, Ms Ong!

We called and smsed Mdm Tan too. It was kinda scary asking her questions, cos you gotta be really sure she hasn't said it before.

Met up again just now, to do the Powerpoint slides. It was all words, no pics, nothing. Hope she accepts the work.

I'm getting sick and tired of GP.

Why must Mdm Tan be our tutor?

Argh!~

Rescued by a CUTE guy!!!!!!!!

If only I was at yesterday's training! Daphne and Xunbin got rescued by a VERY VERY VERY CUTE dragonboat guy! It must have been hilarious! *Sigh* I missed a really GREAT show!

I was actually really looking forward to yesterday's training. Partly cos it felt like eons since I last paddled. But mainly cos I wanna try to master the K1 before the time trials. I bet Yuen Foong doesn't really enjoy paddling the K2 with me either. Anyway, only 4 pairs of girls can be down for competitions. So one of us has to split. And I'm thinking it'll be she and I.

Sadly, I woke up to a splitting headache. Much as I'd like to get up, my body just wouldn't listen. Went back to sleep again, hoping that my headache would go after 15 mins, then maybe I could make it there at 7.30. But it got worst instead! Argh!~

Daphne smsed me right after training, I think, cos it was at 12.44 pm. And this was what she said, "Haha! Sarah! Ur dear partner had to take Lancer today and she was freaking struggling! She was very slow..".

I wasn't being mean or anything, but I burst out laughing when I saw it. It was like Daphne was so happy that Yuen Foong was struggling! Lol!

Went to read Daph's and Bin's blog and found out what a day they had! Wish I had been there man! I bet our bitching session at the 'tau huay' shop would have lasted till 7 pm! Lol!

And seriously, I think I'd have made you two go back to Kallang to get their numbers. Not only from the two, but from the whole dragonboat team! Lol! =)

Full enactment tomorrow k? Haha... =P

Dana

My best friend in Primary School, Dana, emailed me recently.

I must admit that I was rather surprised to receive her email. Since the last time she was here, which was in July 2004, I never did continue to keep in touch with her, except for the occasional ecards which I sent to everyone.

Out of the blue, she sent me this:

********************************************************************
Hey! Merry belated Christmas and Happy New Year! Do me a favor and fill this out won't you? I'll do one for you if you send it back.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT MY:
» Personality:
» Eyes:
» Face:
» Hair:
» Clothes:
» Mannerisms:
» Family:
WOULD YOU:
» Be my friend?:
» Have sex with me?
» Lie to make me feel better?:
» Spread rumors about me?:
» Keep a secret if I told you one?:
» Loan me some cash?:
» Hold my hand?:
» Take a bullet for me?:
» Keep in touch?:
» Try and solve my problems?:
» Love me?:
» Date me?:
WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF:
» I died from natural causes:
» I said I liked you:
» I kissed you:
» I lived next door to you:
» I started smoking:
» I stole something:
» I was hospitalized:
» I ran away from home:
» I got into a fight and you weren't there:

********************************************************************
I haven't done any surveys of this sort for anyone before. I found it a chore to do them. Yet somehow, I decided to fill it up for her. Seriously, I didn't know how to fill it up, cos she didn't exactly leave a good impression on me back then. And I felt that the meeting last July made it worse.

So this is what I replied:

********************************************************************
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT MY:
» Personality: Outgoing. But needs to be more mindful of people around u.
» Eyes: Normal?
» Face: Pretty good complexion.
» Hair: Gorgeous! I wish I had ur hair!
» Clothes: Haven't seen u in a long time. I guess it should be pretty tasteful.
» Mannerisms: Didn't really leave a good impression on me.
» Family: It's all about money...
WOULD YOU:
» Be my friend?: Sure!
» Have sex with me? No.
» Lie to make me feel better?: Probably.
» Spread rumors about me?: Nope.
» Keep a secret if I told you one?: Definitely! U can count on me.
» Loan me some cash?: If it's within my means. But you probably won't need 'em anyway.
» Hold my hand?: Why not?
» Take a bullet for me?: Hmm... We'll see when the time comes.
» Keep in touch?: Yep!
» Try and solve my problems?: That's what friends are for.
» Love me?: Maybe.
» Date me?: Same as above.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF:
» I died from natural causes: Probably go to ur wake. That's if I ever know about it.
» I said I liked you: Surprised? Stunned? Amused?
» I kissed you: Same as above.
» I lived next door to you: Never even dreamt about that!
» I started smoking: Get u to quit. It's bad!
» I stole something: Keep it a secret. =)
» I was hospitalized: Go visit u if possible. Again, that's if I ever know about it.
» I ran away from home: My door is always open.
» I got into a fight and you weren't there: Never thought of that before.

P.S I haven't seen u in a long time, so answers are mostly based on past impressions.

********************************************************************
I guess I sounded pretty mean. Oh well.

Frankly, I can't help but wonder why did she suddenly ask me to fill up the survey? How did she find out about my blog? How come she suddenly trusted me enough to give me the password to her protected entries? Lots of questions (there's more, but I'm having a major headache now), but little answers.

What's really up with her? I wish I knew.

Anyway, I found out that she actually reads my blog. And that reminds me that I actually wrote an entry about her some time ago (this was before I met up with her). So I went to my archives to check if that was a nice one. Phew! Lol! Cos I vaguely recall that I wanted to write a not so nice entry about her (this was after I met her), but never really got down to doing that.

Hmm... Maybe I should try to recall what I had wanted to write, and blog it, since I know she's reading it? Lol! =P

Btw, anyone interested in filling the survey up for me? I'm pretty curious as to what the answers will be! =)

Stupid GP

I'm having a splitting headache now, and I still gotta worry about the GP presentation!

Gp assignment Posted by Hello

It's such an idiotic assignment!

Mdm Tan just gave this to us on Tuesday, and she expects us to churn out a decent draft by Monday?

I don't think so.

This totally suck!

PE

Oh ya! Had my first PE on Tuesday. My PE teacher is Ms Lam, the only female PE teacher teaching J2s. Omg! She looks really fit! And really toned and tanned too! Heard that she's gonna be the teacher-in-charge for netball. I guess they're in a for a good time! Lol!

As usual, we had the weight and height taking session on our 1st PE. And to my dismay, not only have I shrunk by 1 cm, I've also gained 1 kg! Omg! I bet there's something wrong with the machine! Argh!~

Her lessons are okay. Not really fun, unlike the other classes, where they even got to play tennis! Our's was just running.

*Sigh*

Brenda and Yvonne have also decided to go to school really early this year. So there'll be no one to share a cab with me when I'm late. Argh!~

I miss the times when all of us missed the 7.05 bus! Lol! =)

An entry dedicated to ME!!!

Hooray! I finally got an entry dedicated to me! And it's from my one-time canoeing partner, Xunbin. That was her last entry for the year 2004! *Really honoured!* Though more than half the entry was on my dearest partner, Yuen Foong. Lol!

The canoeists were the games i/c for the orientation on Wednesday. Xunbin and I were looking out for hot babes and cute hunks among the freshmen. Sadly, there were no really hot babes or really cute hunks. No eye-candy this year! Lol!

Last year's orientation was much better. The orientation group leaders were much more enthusiastic and fun! If only the canoeists could join. Many of them seemed really boring! And I found out they are, indeed, boring! The mass dance this year isn't as nice as ours. I felt that the Fiesta night was also a flop. The performance put up by the families were ordinary. The usual dancing. Nothing really outstanding, except for the Mistral family. The band suck! Everyone wasn't feeling high enough to get up and dance. So unlike last year, where everyone was so high!

Can't believe I can still remember the steps to our College Dance!

Had power training yesterday. I don't know what the hell was wrong with me. Couldn't keep up with them, even for the warm-up jog. Did 50 push-ups cos we haven't done it in a long time, and Coach wasn't there. We were supposed to do 3 sets of weights. But ended up only doing 2, cos it was getting late.

My body felt weak, even during the 1st set. Couldn't even lift my usual weights. Then my right arm started to hurt in the 2nd set. It's the joint between my shoulder and my arm. Argh!~

Average power for Ergo:

1st set: I don't know, cos Yuen Foong was paddling in the front. But it was slow. Real slow.

2nd set: Double wow! Was maintianing at 90+ - 100+. Max power was a remarkable 138!

Did 180 push-ups after gym, to test our standard, cos the J1s were coming in soon. I stopped at 70, cos my arm was hurting real bad, and changed to doing sit-ups instead.

Why oh why did my stupid arm disobey me at that moment? I was lying on the floor between sit-ups, while I see the rest of my teammates pushing themselves to remain in push-up position. Argh!~

Ended the session by staying in push-up position for 30 secs.

Didn't go to school today, cos I've got a headache this morning. I'm feeling really tired, and my body is aching. The assignments are really killing me!

1st entry of 2005

Oooo.... First entry of the new year - 2005!

Well, it was a kinda disappointing start to the new year. Didn't really have fun at the new year's eve bbq at my place as planned.

My mom did it again. And I got so pissed at her, I decided I needed some time to cool off.

The Cold War has officially started.

Oh well.

I'll blog about yesterday's training first.

First training of the year! First endurance training in months! Had 2 rounds of warm-up jog. I felt the jog was pretty fast, and I guess some others felt the same too. Anyway, we did 3 rounds of sprint-jog. As always, I'm last again. Argh!~ Tried to catch up with them in the 2nd round, but as soon as I did, they started to sprint, and I could never keep up. The only consolation is that I completed the 3 rounds. Really tired after the run. I seriously gotta improve! Wonder how it'll be like when the J1s start to join us for training. *Sigh*

Did 2 rounds of weights circuit after that. Actually planned to do 3, but Coach said 2 was enough. I guess it was cos it has been a long time since we had endurance training.

Timings for weight circuit:
1st set: 2.36 sec
2nd set: 2.42 sec

Pulse rate for 10 sec:
1st set: 31
2nd set: 29

Did 3 sets of medicine ball exercises. Yuen Foong and I were doing pretty well, until I cut my hand. The momentum was lost, and everything was bad. We kept dropping the ball. Argh!~

Many seniors came down for training yesterday. About 10! They really stress me up, especially during the runs, cos I'm always lagging behind.

*Sigh*

As for school in 2005...

It totally sucks now! Except for our Physics tutor - Mr Low, all our other tutors have changed!

My Civics Tutor (CT) cum GP tutor - Mdm Kelly Tan. If she wanted to instil fear in the hearts of her students, I must say she has done a really good job at that! All the classes that she went to, the students are really afraid of her. The canoeists were talking about her before training. And she HATES latecomers, that I found out at 8.32 am yesterday, just 2 mins after the bell went off. But the one thing I totally totally dislike is that she so damn particular about attire. She caught me twice in one hour for my blouse, just cos the back wasn't tucked in real neat.

Actually, I already knew that I was in for a bad time, even before yesterday. Way back in 2004, she already caught me for my blouse, even when I was in the toilet. She totally sucks!

Man, I really miss Ms Karen Ong! GP lessons were never so boring last year! The liveliness in our class seemed to have been sucked dry by Mdm Tan. Now, lessons are so dead, and boring! GP will never be the same again! =(

Our Chemistry tutor is now Dr Wong. Heard that she's got 5 degrees! Amazing! She's from NUS and majors in Math and Chemistry. Studied at Kuo Chuan Girls' School before going to TJC - one of the top 3 JCs at that time. Later went on to take her doctorate at the northern part of United States, and stayed there for 9 years. Never taught Math and J1s.

That was her introduction. Can you imagine how boring she is?

She adopts a totally different teaching style from Mrs Suresh, and I'm not adapting really well to it. Firstly, I totally HATE concept maps. And her notes are in the form of concept maps! Next, she teaches us extra stuff that we need not know, and it gets me real confused. Sometimes, the more she tries to explain, the worse it becomes. Thirdly, her tone is monotonous. I almost dozed off during her period today. And there's 3 periods of Chem in a row tomorrow morning! Wonder how I'll ever manage to stay awake.

Man, I really miss Mrs Suresh too! Her really summarised and organised notes, her squeaky voice, her lessons... Suddenly they all seemed so nice! And I especially miss the anticipation of what she'll wear that day. I find her dressing so stylish! And it's funny, cos she'll have a different color code everyday. When I'm about to doze off, at least her clothes will provide some sort of a distraction, cos I'll look at how she matches her clothes from head to toe - from her hair clip, to her heels. And her voice never fails to keep me awake! Lol!

As for Math, our tutor seems pretty okay. I think she's got the same teaching style as Mrs Kwek. Haven't started formal lessons yet, but I guess it should go pretty smoothly.

Chinese's still the best! Though I still prefer our ex-teacher - Ms Lim, but our present one is not bad too! He can be quite funny, and lessons are pretty interesting! Probably cos there's no syllabus to follow, and exams are already over.

Oh well! Looks like I'm in for a tough year ahead!

No. Perservere! Cos it'll be all over after Nov 2005!

Yep, that's what I should be thinking. Yes! Perservere!

2006, here I come!!!!! =)

Oh man!
