it's just been an emotional rollercoaster race day 1 - where one takes the deepest dive at the beginning, and the rest of the ups and downs during the ride never quite hitting that kind of depth again. from the first stroke, it didn't feel right. as every muscle tensed up and became fatigued by the halfway mark, inside, i knew that it was slipping away. crossing the finishing line, it was disappointment. but there js was, at the pontoon as he said he would be - now that was the tear inducement. yet when i paddled off for some me-time, they just wouldn't drop. but seeing py waiting for me, oh my, tear ducts acted again. what i didn't expect was for it to come down so fast and furious. the moment e took the boat from me, i just wanted to get out of that dumb (literally dumb) launching area. it began with a drop, and another.. by the time i reached the concrete ramp, oh me goodness, the tears were streaming down like nobody's business. first post-race break down, first time my floodgates totally and completely opened in public.

thanks a lot you guys - js encouraging me on the side as i walked off to cool down, z coming behind, the girls meeting me at the milo truck, and the rest who stayed put.. :)
