granny's day

Wa lau! My butt and shoulders are hurting like siao now! And I've 5 bubbles (blisters) on my hand! Plus one lump on my thumb.

All thanks to the Round Ubin Race this morning!

Eh no... It's all thanks to the boat from prssc actually! The boat was huge and heavy, the foot rest was lousy (it came out when we were not even halfway into the race), and the seat was - OMGosh - damn horrible! The stupid seat was designed in such a way that there was something sticking out between my 2 butt cheeks. I tried shifting my ass during the race, but aiya... no use. So now my butt hurts so bad that even sitting is a slow and painful experience. =(

Paddling 22/23/24k was truly a test of endurance man! But we made it! WoOhoO!

And I got my very first canoeing tee today! Yayness! Teresa has soooo many tees from her sailing competitions, but I only got 1 in my 2 years in canoeing. Boohoohoo!

Went down for training on Thursday evening, after a week's break.

As I walked to the bus stop, a familiar sense of dread came over me. It felt exactly the same as the ones I'll experience before any land training where I know there'll be lots of running! You know... Those type where your stomach will feel sooo queasy, and following that, the inevitable urge to shit! Hahaha!

Reached MacRitchie at 4.40 pm, which is soo freaking early since training only starts at 5.30. I even had time to go for my second shitting session for that afternoon and apply sunblock before meeting Lina. I'm reaching my destinations earlier and earlier nowadays! WoOhoO!

The 4 x 1000m (8k) was a tedious affair.

*****

The Curse of the 500m mark!

Paddled the K1 white for the alumni training on Friday.

Although I managed to paddle quite a few laps on it, I think I can seriously be upgraded to pro status for 'getting back up on the boat' soon.

And I never got the chance to feel hot throughout the training, cos I capped almost every lap! Ultimate sian-ism!

I think just getting to the starting line will be a major problem man! Argh.

*****

My heart nearly skipped a beat when I heard that we're gonna paddle 10k on Saturday.

But it turned out that we only had to do 6k. Phew!

I find it so hard to change my strokes. Argh.

And I didn't catch the 2nd half of the movie 'Cast Away' cos I fell asleep. =(

*****

Canoeists' chalet gathering tomorrow. WoOhoO!
