it finally dawned on me
My first time at Hougang Polyclinic wasn't a pleasant experience. I never got to see the doctor cos my queue number never came. Or so I thought. The mystery was finally unravelled today. I accompanied my sis to the polyclinic after my paper today. Rather reluctantly, I must admit. The waiting time at polyclinics is always damn freaking long - it took nearly 2 hours today! Today, I learnt that the system at Hougang polyclinic is like this: First, you go to the reception to get a queue number to register. Next, head to the registration area and wait for your number to be called. The staff will then give you a service chit with the room you are supposed to go to, and yet another queue number. After seeing the doctor, you go to the pharmacy, and obtain a queue number (again!). Wait for your turn to get your prescription. Make your payment and... Woohoo, you're finally done! My sis followed the abovementioned steps. In fact, I was the one who directed her to the registration area! Was reminded of the last time I was there while waiting for her turn - I waited (until the staff turned the fans and lights off) for my turn to come, but alas, it never did. Midway through my train of thoughts, it suddenly dawned on me - I never did register the last time I came! No wonder my queue number never came la! And I was waiting like a dumb fool! Hahaha! Anyway, I went back to the doctor's for a review last Friday. I didn't like the doctor who saw me that day. He seemed soo aloof. He's a rookie I think. Doctor: So what's wrong with you? Me: Erm.. I'm supposed to come back for a review. *Takes a look at my records* Doctor: Oh. So are you still coughing now? Me: Yep. Doctor: I've seen your x-ray. It's actually pretty okay. Me: Oh. Doctor: What's the colour of your phelgm? Me: Colourless. (After soo many years of studying Chem, I've learnt - it's not "transparent", it's "colourless"! Hahaha!) Doctor: How are you feeling now? Me: Huh? I'm okay. Doctor: Has your coughing improved? Me: I think it's the same. *Takes a referral letter* Doctor: Are you really still coughing? Me: Ya. *I'm getting a little pissed already* Doctor: What's the colour of your phelgm? *Oh boy* Me: Colourless! Doctor: I'll prescribe another cough mixture (it's for dry cough, when my cough's actually the wet type), and you see if it helps. And so I'm due for an appointment at cgh on 10 October at 2.40 pm.
My IQ dropped 0 points today!
