No morning jog

I must say that I was pretty glad it rained throughout the night. Not only did I have a really nice sleep, we also didn't have morning jog today. Yea!~ Felt happy but also guilty that I was actually rejoicing when there's no jog.

Training was pretty okay today. When I heard the boat allocation for the training, I was like, "Huh? T2 again?!" Haven't paddled the K boat for more than a week. Even Bennett was like, "Sarah, T2 again? Endurance training again."

But all was well. We went for 6 rounds (12 km I think). I practised my strokes on the T2 cos it's more stable. Gotta twist my trunk more, and not rely so much on arm power. Changed to a K2 after 3 rounds. Yuen Foong and I were really unstable on the K2 at first. We capped several times (3 times I think) just paddling 500 m. Probably cos we haven't sat in a K boat for ages, and we got too used to paddling the T2. But as we gradually warmed up to the boat, we paddled pretty well, except for some occasional "mishaps".

I felt that my balance was way off today. Probably cos I haven't been paddling the K boat for a long time. Coach told me to keep on paddling and not to tap the water, cos I'm actually stable. I did that for the 5th and 6th round, and I thought it was really better.

The seniors told Yuen Foong and I that our coordination was good. Couldn't believe my ears when I heard that! Cos we've only started paddling together in October, and the other pairs have paddled together way longer than us. Really happy! But we gotta work on our balance. I knew it was coming. I seriously gotta improve my balance!

I left right after washing was done, cos there was an LTC meeting for the CCA Leaders Camp in school. But it was over when I got there, cos I was an hour late. Anyway, after I left, the seniors told Yuen Foong that our coordination is good as compared to the other 3 pairs, but our balance is way off. Coach also said that I need to keep paddling and we need to try the Mosquito, cos we can't always stick to something we're good at. We must keep upgrading. What if the school wants to buy faster and slimmer boats next time?

Yes! I gotta constantly improve! Sadly though, I don't think I'll partner Yuen Foong next year. Cos of our almost 10 kg weight difference. Then I'll have to learn to coordinate with a new partner again. Argh!~
