Best training!

Today's our earliest training, and also the best sea training I've had so far!

We were launching the boats at 7 am, so we gotta be there by 6.35 am. Took a cab there but I was atill alittle late. Anyway, I launched the white Mosquito with Yuen Foong. I must admit that I was pretty unconfident at first. Cos I've never once successfully launched the Mosquito. We always cap on our way there. I could also feel that Yuen Foong was alittle unconfident too.

But surprisingly, we managed to paddle 3/4 way before capping, which was kinda an achievement for us, or at least for me, already. Cos we often capped near the pontoon.

We continued practising on the white Mos throughout the training. It was just fantastic! We were pretty stable, and capped significantly lesser. We could actually paddle short laps! Something I'd never expected I could do, well at least not today. Our confidence gradually grew. We actually managed to paddle back to the pontoon without capping at all!

Well, when we were paddling, coach said that we were quite stable. But we should stop rocking. Yup, our boat is like rocking from side to side at times, but stable sometimes. I've also dunk my paddle less frequent now. And my shoulders don't go down as frequent when I paddle. I think the key is not to be so "kan jiong". As coach often says, "Focus on getting the balance first, power later."

I think I've made vast improvement during the recent trainings. From someone who capped right at the pontoon, even before we left, to someone who can actually paddle the Mos back. All I can say now is a big "WOW"!

I think the waters at Kallang was just fantastic! It was really calm, and there were no boats around, except ours. Launching the boat was so easy, cos there was little people crowding around. Coming back was also easy, for the same reason. I wish we will have more of this kind of early trainings. Although it's kinda hard to wake up in the morning, but the paddling makes it all worthwhile!

Gotta go for another training at 4pm. Gonna sleep in the meantime. =)
